Masters Division

The Master's Division is by invitation only. To be invited to compete in the Masters Division you must have accomplished one of the following:

• Have won a Masters Level sandcastle competition
• Have competed in the Masters Division at the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest
• Have won the Large Group Division at the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest and have demonstrated a master sandcastle-building skill level 
• Have demonstrated a master sandcastle skill level at another competition and wish to apply to compete in the Cannon Beach Masters Division. (Please reach out to Jim at jim@cannonbeach.org to express interest with photos of work for consideration.)

Open Division - Individuals

The Open Division is for individuals of all ages who wish to showcase their sandcastle-building skills. This division leans toward individuals who are skilled in sandcastle building and who want to complete it at a high level. This is a new division this year to give individuals who are not affiliated with a team to showcase their talents and creativity.

Large Group Division

The Large Group is for a team of 4 to 8 contestants of all ages. Each member of the team will receive an official Sandcastle Contest contestant t-shirt with registration. At registration, make sure to purchase a ticket and select a t-shirt size for each contestant. If the winning team of the Large Group Division demonstrates a master sandcastle skill level of building, will be invited to compete in the Masters Division the following year.

Small Group Division

The Small Group Division is for small group teams consisting of 1 to 4 contestants of any age. Each member of the team will receive an official Sandcastle Contest contestant t-shirt with registration. At registration, make sure to purchase a ticket and select a t-shirt size for each contestant.

Teen Division

The Teen Division is for contestants ages 12 to 18 contestants. Teams can consist of 1 to 8 contestants and each member of the team will receive an official Sandcastle Contest contestant t-shirt. At registration, make sure to purchase a ticket and select a t-shirt size for each contestant.

Junior Division

The Junior Division is for the sand-building junior contestants ages 7 to 11. Teams can consist of 1 to 8 contestants and each member of the team will receive an official Sandcastle Contest contestant t-shirt. At registration, make sure to purchase a ticket and select a t-shirt size for each contestant.

Sand Flea Division

The Sand Flea division is for our youngest contestants ages 6 & under. Teams can consist of up to 4 builders and each builder will receive a sand bucket filled with sand toys! At registration, make sure to purchase a ticket for each contestant. T-shirts for the Sand Flea division are sold separately.
