| Business Licenses Anyone conducting business in the city is required to have a current business license. |
Short Term
Rentals The city has an ordinance concerning the use of private homes as vacation rentals. Before renting our property for less than 14 day, please check with City Hall for these regulations. |
| Garbage
Pick Up The City has a mandatory garbage pick up ordinance. Any house that has water & sewer service must also have garbage pick up. Minimum service is once per month. |
Building
Permits If you are planning a construction project check with the building department regarding code requirements and necessary permits. A residential building permit informational packet is available at City Hall. |
| Right-Of-Way
Use Permits A permit is required before making any improvements in the city right-of-way. |
Utility
Locates State law requires that before you dig, anywhere, you must call (800) 332-3244. |
| Tree Removal You may need to apply for a permit to remove a tree from your property or from adjacent city right-of-way. Contact City Hall before removing any trees. |
Sign Permits There are regulations as to the size, number and materials allowed for the construction of any signs erected in the city. |
| Recycling
Program Curbside pickup and depot drop off are available. Items accepted for recycling are glass, plastic bottles, newsprint, cardboard, greyboard, tin, aluminum, magazines, computer & office paper. The depot is located on East 2nd Street. |
Shuttle
Service The shuttle is operated by Sunset Empire Transportation District and runs 7 days a week, transporting people north and south along Hemlock St and across Hwy 101 to the Cannon Beach RV Park. |
